These are bolts that have strength of 1,200N/mm2. In automotive engines, forty to fifty bolts are used and also the high strength bolts are used in transmissions. Because high strength bolts used in automobiles must have exceptional reliability, only a few companies can make these in Japan. It is said that whether a bolt manufacturer can make high strength bolts or not is the measurement of its technology level. Saga makes several hundred tons of high strength bolts every month. As higher performance engines are developed, higher specification for bolts become required. We are developing higher strength bolts using new raw material.
